Mayflower 2.0 Migrations are here!

MyFamily 2.0 site migrations / data imports now fully operational - Stage 3 part 2 launched!

We are happy to announce that we are now officially taking orders for Mayflower/MyFamily 2.0 site migrations. We have been developing, testing, tweaking, and refining. We’re thrilled to see the results of this enormous effort, and we know many of you are eager to see your MyFamily 2.0 sites migrated safely as well.

Order your Mayflower 2.0 migration now by visiting http://spokt.com/mayflower and proceeding through the checkout process for any 2.0 (or 1.0) sites you’d like migrated before the upcoming MyFamily.com shutdown.

Our Mayflower tool will capture all Discussions, Media (Photos & Videos), Files, and Members. All the replies, names, dates, and avatars are included. We migrate the tags for posts and albums for photos. As with 1.0 migrations, we do not capture the calendar items, personal email inbox, or family trees. Depending on the queue size when you sign up, we anticipate the migration will take between 1-2 weeks to complete and for the MyFamily data to be visible in your Hub.

Advanced Early Access Program

We will be working with a select group of you as part of our secondary quality assurance process. If you A) are available to work directly with our support team and B) can provide clear, concise feedback during your migration process, then we invite you to participate in this early access phase over the next week week or so. This is a first-come, first-served opportunity, and we will have limited capacity for this initial group, so if you’re interested please place your order and contact us immediately.

To participate, visit http://spokt.com/mayflower and place your order. Once that’s completed, please email us immediately at mayflower-2.0@spokt.com with the subject line “Mayflower 2.0 Early Access Participation”. We will move your migration to the front of the queue, and someone from our support team will work directly with you one-on-one to get the data migrated into your Spokt Hub.

    Hooray!!! Thank you!

  2. Debbie says:

I just went and tried and it doesn’t show up through my hub. Just the 1.0 sites, so do I need to buy a separate site? I would like to migrate them altogether? I will wait until I hear from you. Thank you so much for making this possible.

    1. Dan says:

      Hi Debbie,

You should see your 2.0 sites listed now. You can merge two sites into a single hub or continue to keep them separate. It’s up to you.

  3. Kayle Simon says:

I hope you guys are feeling very, very loved right now.

  4. Suzanne says:

Long Live Spokt! Kayle said it right. Thanks for being the spectacular host that myfamily was not.

  5. Debbie says:

I started the 2.0 migration and I am so excited! Thank you so much! I sure hope you keep Spokt going for a very, very long time.

I have just placed my order for a new hub and migration from the 2.0 MyFamily (our family website). Thank you for the offer. I would like to keep this new hub separate from the one I already have for our High School former alumni. Will the other hub be able to see this if I don’t invite them over?

    1. Dan says:

Each site can be migrated into separate hubs. Everything will be separate.

  7. Carolyn Dyess Bales says:

I paid $138 for two migration of the 2.0 sites. It is still not showing up in my HUB. Please advise.
    Thanks,

    1. Dan says:

      Hi Carolyn,

At our current load migrations will probably take about a week to complete.

    2. Carolyn Dyess Bales says:

Thanks so mch for the reply!! I appreciate it!!!!

  8. Velma Silva says:

Thank you Dan for the response to my question. Right now my status on the 2.0 Migration says Finalize- this/ but something goes wrong when I try to finalize it. And a note appears that an error occurred. Do I have to wait till I get something in my email to Finalize? Thank you!

    1. Velma Silva says:

Now my Mayflower Status is back to Import Processing! Changed from Finallize.

  9. Jean Guhl says:

Just got 1.0/must you pay 69.00 again for version
2.0 which began the day after my site migrated.
Does version 2.0 take the place of version 1.0?
Will we then have to merge them if they are separate?
Luckily I just have one site!
    Thanks,jean Guhl

    1. Dan says:

      Hi Jean,

The MyFamily.com 2.0 and 1.0 sites are separate but you can import them both into the same Spokt Hub if you wish.

  10. Kayle Simon says:

Well we signed up the day it became available, our site is not very large, and it’s been a week. It sounds like you think it could take as long as two but I have a question at this point: have any sites been successfully migrated yet from 2.0? We are getting dangerously close to end of Sept, to have to do this manually with only two weeks remaining would be nearly impossible for us, so I think we’d feel better if we knew it was actually working for someone. You offered a special speedy option for those who wanted to work with you…could we get an update, please, on how things are going, while the rest of us try to wait (somewhat) patiently?

    1. Dan says:

      Hi Kayle,

We hit a snag in the member migration part, not to worry, we’ll be able to resolve the issue but it has caused an unexpected delay. Read more here:
      http://blog.spokt.com/general/mayflower-2-0-status-update/

If you signed up on day one we probably have saved your data already. Check your status screen to be sure but the 2.0 exports have gone extremely smooth besides the site member issue.

I’ve just created my Hub, paid the fee, and I’m trying to migrate. It says to only press the Migrate button one time, but when I did, I got a message that said you cant connect to MyFamily.com, that it may be down. I’m able to sign on so I don’t know what the problem is. Dare I press the Migrate button again? (My site, called Our Family Website on MyFamily.com is a 1.0 site. Does that make a difference?) Thanks for your help. I’m stuck in the middle of this process and need help fast!

    1. Pam says:

Follow up: All is well. My migration is underway.

    2. RJ says:

Looks like you figured it out. Perfect!

    3. RJ says:

      Hi Pam,

When MyFamily (either 1.0 or 2.0) is down, we are not able to initiate orders for migrations. MyFamily was down over the weekend, and appears to have been having issues still earlier this morning. MyFamily is running in a multi-server environment, so it is possible for some to gain access while others cannot.

Please try again, and if the problem still persists for the next day or two, please let us know here and we’ll see what we can do to further troubleshoot.

      Thanks!
      RJ

  12. Kayle Simon says:

Our site migration completed and looks great. We look forward to having our photos in albums again when you get that done, but thus far everything seems to be there and we are SO thrilled. At end of migration the site took about a half hour to show up and we thought something had gone wrong, but it was just a server delay…it all arrived.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

    1. Dan says:

      Hi Kayle,

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled that you are thrilled!

  13. I have my migration pretty much done I assume since 24 hours have passed since it started … I have no albums or folders though, and I had a lot of albums on my MF site … so now I have 104 pages (100+ photos per page?) in one big pile on my SPOKT site! Help! Can I assume that the album/folder logic will be copied as well? Please don’t tell me that is it … I have to organize all this!!

    1. Dan says:

      Hi William,
We do preserve the album data. See this blog post for more information: http://blog.spokt.com/general/fun-features-coming-soon/
