Scheduled Maintenance Tonight (July 21, 2014 from 10pm to midnight)

This is a service advisory that Spokt.com will be undergoing normal system maintenance tonight between 10pm and Midnight MDT. We expect the actual downtime to be less than one hour. You will see Spokt’s maintenance page while we are working. It is safe to refresh this page or close your browser and come back at a later time to check Spokt’s status. You will automatically be redirected to your intended page once our maintenance is complete.

Thank you for being a valuable part of the Spokt family!

Thanks for adding the feature that allows the administrators to control invites. This was a must for us and my TTSS Hub.

I have another request. It would be good to be able to upload a pdf file which could be associated with a particular, already existing thread. Currently one must create a new thread with pdf attachment to upload a file.

Also hoping that someday we can create our own background easily for our home page using one of our photos. Another wish item is the ability to show a slideshow on our homepage of the existing photos.

Thanks again for being so responsive!

I am just still in awe and thrilled with all the behind the scenes work you all are doing, and hesitate to pile on more. BUT, on the front page design question, we really used the html coding. I changed the home page and photo every day, and played an mp3 of some old timey song that binds the group together (and triggers memories from the elders..) Like a parlor, if you will, with the record player. They have repeatedly told me how much they miss arriving on that front page and hearing that day’s song.

Most importantly, THANK YOU and the team for all that you have done, are doing and plan on doing. Such a comfort and very exciting building our new home with your capable hands!

Approximately how long can we expect to wait for a typical migration to be complete?

    1. RJ says:

      Hello Suzanne,

At this point it shouldn’t be long. We’re still on track for a July import process (Stage 3), so you should be hearing from us on the import any day now!

My next status changed to Import Queue. Does that mean the import will be available later today? and how will I access it? Thanks RJ, I greatly appreciate your hard work. I know it must be a large headache and very overwhelming. Thanks so much.

    1. RJ says:

I replied to another post of yours, but in case you missed it I’ll repost it here:

      Hi Ron,

This is a few days old, so I’m sure you have seen already, but we are now actively importing sites. The queue is pretty sizable at this point, so it may be a short wait still to get your site imported. I do see a number of sites that are already successfully imported, and we’re hearing some very positive feedback on those so far.

I hope this helps. Thanks for your patience!

Dear Spokt I normally sign in via my favourites bar. Today I could not do that- a page appeared with a threatening message that Spokt.com was reported as a phishing site. NOT good news. Any thoughts?

    1. RJ says:

      Hi Elke,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. So far we have not been able to reproduce this message in any of the various combinations of IE and Windows which we have installed on our machines here. We have reached out to a few of our corporate contacts at Microsoft to determine the legitimacy and potential source of the message you’re seeing. In the meantime, I can assure you that we are not a phishing site. We have been (and continue to be) completely up-front and open about what we expect of you in the process of migrating your data safely from MyFamily to your new Spokt Hub.

Once we get additional information from those we’ve contacted at Microsoft, we’ll update you here as well as at the email you provided when contacting us through our support channel.

      Thanks again!
      RJ

Thanks for your quick and reassuring response. I have sent a copy of the warning message to the contact page.
I look forward to your update
      Regards
      Elke

The coolest thing about your processing is that I know I will-one moment-sign off and shut down, and then return to find a whole new world appearing before me-a rebirth, if you will, of my old website. I spent 15 years building it into a place for young and old to come, share, drop off stories and pictures and move about their day’s events. We have built/dedicated a park bench to the memory of a long lost ancestor back in Maryland and sponsored reunions and had two books come from our site…it must carry on (with or without me)…thanks to you for being there when we needed you!
