Spokt Enhancements

Below is a list of enhancements we’ve made to Spokt during the past few weeks.

• The mobile website now uses the full size of larger phones (like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus) as well as landscape support.
• Edit your posts and replies on your phone.
• Simplified login screen.

• View books as a list.
• View books in alphabetical order.

Hub Admin
• Filter Member lists and view in order of first name, last name, or date joined.

• Replace Photos:

    Thank you, thank you, thank you. Each and every update makes the admin job all that much easier. Especially the “Filter Member lists and view in order of first name, last name, or date joined”. But even the landscape o mobile, since do some of admin / reading on mobile.

    It would be very helpful to be able to also sort member lists by last logon date and time. Other than the short list of members who have logged on most recently (list showing on the Hub Home page), we have no idea who is and who is not accessing the site.

      I agree with Don, I like to see when the last time people logged on and the list of who have logged on most recent. I don’t need to know when they joined…
      Is there a calendar feature in the near future? My family loves to see upcoming birthdays/anniversaries etc. We have missed many special events without a calendar :/

      You can. That was one of the last updates. Go to Manage Hub, then members and the ordered by pull down has last activity option. I know I been hanging out for it as well.

    Great update. How about exchanging an attached file–such as a PDF–with a newer version? Can that also be done? That would help us edit and streamline our library. Thanks!

    Great news about the “members listing by last activity” enhancement. I wish I had learned about the change sooner. I immediately found 15 members who had stopped accessing the site and enabled me to start the process of wooing them back.

    As the administrator for our family website I would like to ADD a younger member of the family as additional administrator to ensure continuity should anything happen to me. I have not been able to figure out how to designate an additional administrator. Please give the steps for this procedure.
    Our family is also looking forward to the Calendar function. We are so thrilled and grateful for the saving of data and migration from MyFamily. Once the Calendar feature is enabled I will begin wooing our large family to once again make time for a secure family only site.

    There are file cabinet lineaology files compiled very professionally by the last administrator.as the administrator now I need to update these files but I can’t see where I can edit them-these are not posts but files .Please help ! Unable to contact last administrator. Thsnks,Jeanie Guhl

    It has been awhile since I’ve seen an update about the calendar function. Is it still coming or has that idea been sidelined? Our family is really missing a calendar feature, and is the main complaint we have when we compare this site to the late myfamily site.

      Hi, Derrick! The Calendar feature is our top priority at Spokt right now, and we are working to release it as soon as we can.

  14. How do I add new members when I have their address and emails?I don’t just want to invite them but want to keep my family info updated. Thanks, Bev

      Hi Beverly! Unfortunately, you cannot create new hub members yourself. Your invitees must make their profiles themselves. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope you continue to enjoy using Spokt.

  15. how does someone download the mobile app? I have someone with a MAC that it will not allow her to access the regular site.

    Something wrong with her Mac (or the operator)
    I access the site from. Mac and PC both
    No difference

    1. For HER it’s telling her the application is not found. So how does she get the application?

      No application I know of
      It’s just in a browser – I use both safari and chrome no problems

    Have you developed a method to categorize and file photos yet? I can’t find anything now without going through the whole 38 pages of pictures.

    I was wondering if you are going to add having the date showing when each post was entered. Right now, it just says “one day ago; over two months ago”, etc. Our family relies on that because we are always pulling up old posts and comparing.

      For now, simply enter the date with each post.

      If you let your mouse linger over the “5 months ago” label the date will be displayed.

    How do I access Spokt mobile? I can’t find an app for Spokt at the app store? I can bring up my family site on my phone, but just using the internet, not an app.

      I think that’s just the point. The post said “mobile website” and just checked myself and the formatting of the website when you look at it from a mobile device (I was using iPhone 6) is much nicer than a “regular” website. Many web sites do not have the “smarts” to modify their appearance based on the device being used to view them. Spokt has taken the extra effort to do so.

      To the best of my knowledge, there is no smartphone add.

    2. Will mobile users ever be able to open an attachment on the Spokt Hub? The number one complaint I receive by my members?

    Just started new hub. Maybe, I missed it, but when a post is not assigned a book, can the system default it into a (to be booked)
    Book. Then I could book them properly. If the system currently does something, let me know.
